Protection Spells

Protection Chant

A good friend of mine, who happens to be a witch and Christian Scientist gave me this one. Recommended: say it when you wake up everyday and when you feel negative energy.

I am happy, I am healthy, I am whole, I am strong, I am beautiful, I am wise, I am safe, I am loved, I am love.

Repeat as often as you’d like. This reaffirms you, grounds you, centers you, calms you, and gives you immense energy when used properly.

The dreaded, the infamous, the highly effective Witch’s Jar or Bottle. You can vary this in a thousand ways, but the principles are the same. A tightly sealed jar (think mason); dangerous and sharp objects: rusty nails, rusty razor blades, broken glass, pins & needles, etc; protectorant herbs such as: rue, witchgrass, devil’s shoestring, sage, angelica, rosemary etc; vinegar/sour wine/thieves vinegar; urine & menstrual blood (though these are super duper effective, and tradtional, they are optional). Put all the ingredients in the jar (carefully); seal tightly, bury in front yard or near your most used entry. If you live in a city or an apartment complex or another place where you don’t a front yard, get a big flower pot, bury your jar in there and plant a cool plant. Roses are great for protection (think thorns) as well as lavender, basil, garlic, wild geranium and the list goes on! A witch’s bottle can protect you and your home for years, but it does have an admittedly bad rap, so don’t let your neighbors see you peeing into a mason jar full of nails! That might not go over so well.

Algiz+protectionProtection/Shield Spell from MagicalRecipesOnline.com

This is a wonderful site I suggest you poke around, and I plan to feature more of their posts here! This spell will “create a radiant divine shield that can protect you from danger, physical and psychic alike” and it uses candle magic, herb magic and the power of runes.

Ingredients:

5 white candles
A carving instrument (a toothpick, a knife, an object with a sharp edge)
Incense: Cinnamon, myrrh, amber, sage, pepper, St John’s wort (use a combination that feels right for you)
Salt

Herbal Protection Bath

Ingredients

Rue, rosemary, lavender, basil (fresh if possible), mint, handful of course salt. Toss all into a hot bath & let steep for a few minutes, get in and feel the protection from all the herbs, the warm comfort of the bath. When you’re done, take some of the bathwater in a bowl and throw it outside. Source.

The Bottle Spell for Protection

The Bottle Protection Spell is used to neutralize the power of those who intend to do you physical harm, or hurt your reputation, or in any way pose a threat to your security.
